Movement to Work is proud to introduce YouthPath, a targeted initiative running in partnership with regional combined authorities in the West Midlands, Liverpool City Region, and Greater Manchester - with plans to expand further.
YouthPath aims to inspire and support businesses to create meaningful employment pathways - work experience, apprenticeships, and job opportunities - for young people aged 16–30 who are currently not in education, employment, or training (NEET).
Across the UK, almost one million young people are classified as NEET, with parts of the West Midlands and Liverpool City Region among the hardest hit. As Youth Guarantee Trailblazer regions, they are a focus for government action. YouthPath was created to complement this effort by delivering targeted support where it's needed most - accelerating skills development and improving employability for young people.
We work directly with employers to:
The West Midlands is where YouthPath began - and for good reason. With areas like Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and Walsall recording youth unemployment rates double the national average, the need for action is urgent.
Launched in February 2025 in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority, YouthPath is already helping Mayor Richard Parker deliver on his mission to create 20,000 opportunities for young people.
Over 20 organisation have already on board including M&S, Tesco and Accenture.

Liverpool City Region is one of the most ambitious regions in the UK when it comes to tackling youth unemployment - and now it's home to YouthPath.
Launched at the Raise Up Youth Summit in October 2025, in partnership with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, YouthPath brings together employers, young people, and support services to break down barriers and create real opportunities for those who need them most.

Greater Manchester is reinventing itself — and YouthPath is making sure young people are at the heart of that story.
Launched in partnership with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, YouthPath is connecting 16–30 year olds who are out of education, employment or training with the employers and opportunities shaping the city region's future. With the GMCA, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and Transport for Greater Manchester already on board, momentum is building fast.
