Wed 1 Jul 2026 · LinkedIn HQ · In person

In July 2026, we brought together young people from across our partner network for another AI and LinkedIn upskilling day at LinkedIn's HQ.

The event was designed to help young people build confidence in their job search by making the most of LinkedIn and exploring how AI can support their career journey. Through engaging workshops, expert advice and networking opportunities, attendees gained practical skills, valuable professional connections and tools to help them take their next steps with confidence.

Over 30 young people attended the event benefitting from 1:1 mentoring with volunteers from LinkedIn and Microsoft, receiving personalised advice on their profiles, career goals, and next steps. Attendees also had professional headshots taken to enhance their LinkedIn profiles along with a FREE one-year LinkedIn Premium subscription, giving them access to learning resources and job-seeking tools to continue developing their skills beyond the event.

Upskilling sessions

The day featured two engaging workshops designed to equip attendees with essential digital and career skills:

  • Microsoft delivered an interactive session on Microsoft Copilot, showcasing how AI can support productivity, learning and career development.

  • LinkedIn shared expert guidance on creating a standout profile, growing a professional network, and using the platform effectively to unlock career opportunities.

Inspiring panel discussion

We were delighted to welcome an outstanding panel of speakers who shared their personal career journeys, advice, and encouragement with attendees:

  • Amani Simpson, Founder of AVIARD Inspires, an award-winning social enterprise that empowers young people through personal development, digital media, and enrichment opportunities. Learn more about AVIARD Inspires: https://www.aviard.co.uk/

  • Liana Ibrahim, shared her lived experience and career journey, inspiring young people to believe in their own potential.

  • Ibraahiem Muhumed, from LinkedIn, who shared practical guidance on building a professional brand and making the most of LinkedIn to unlock opportunities.

Thank you

A huge thank you to everyone who made the day possible – our volunteers from LinkedIn and Microsoft, our inspiring panellists, and of course the fantastic young people who brought such enthusiasm, curiosity and energy throughout the day.

By the end of the day attendees had developed practical AI and LinkedIn skills, increased confidence, expanded professional networks and practical tools to support them as they take their next steps into employment.
