We are running a brand new 11 day, free Work Ready programme starting on the 10th July 2019 at Fazeley Studios, 191 Fazeley St, Birmingham B5 5SE! 

Completing one may be just what you need to get noticed and get a job. The new programme is starting soon, so get in quickly as we have limited places available. What will you do during the programme?

• Learn how to create a great CV, refine your interview skills and how to find jobs in line with your career aspirations.

• Complete three days of hands on work experience, either shadowing a BT engineer or in a digital office based role.

• Take part in a mock recruitment assessment day, this is a safe environment to practise assessments commonly used by BT and other companies.

• You’ll develop new digital skills, complete a project with a team and have the chance to present to senior leaders in the business.

• Grow your confidence, get creative, set yourself goals and get a boost into the right career for you.

• Enjoy a celebration event where you will have the chance to shine and get noticed by local companies who are recruiting.

Work Ready Placements are for 18 -24 year olds that are not currently in employment education or training. If you are currently enrolled in school, college or university, or guaranteed a place to begin a course next term they are not eligible for this programme. If you have a conditional offer or are not sure what your plans are then we welcome registrations and ask to note this information in the questions box.

What does a typical placement look like?

Days 1 – 3 – You’ll get expert support to create a great CV, invaluable interview skills and how to find jobs in line with your career aspirations

Days 4 – 6 – You’ll have the opportunity to either shadow an Openreach engineer or try your hand at a digital office based role

Days 7 – Take part in a mock recruitment day to practise typical assessments in a safe environment

Days 8-10 – You’ll have the chance to get creative while developing your digital skills

Day 11 – the final morning is a celebration of all you’ve achieved and a chance to meet local employers at our mini careers fair

What you should wear?

•Comfortable, smart casual clothing is best. For example, trousers and a top, chinos and a shirt, a dress, or a skirt and top. Don’t worry if you have a limited wardrobe – we don’t judge.

•If personal protective equipment is required for a work placement, we will provide it.
