Youth Ambassadors

Inspiring the next generation into work.

Our Youth Ambassadors are young people aged 16–30 who have been through a Movement to Work programme and are now in employment.

They've experienced first-hand what it takes to overcome barriers to work - and they're passionate about helping others do the same.

Each Ambassador commits to two years with Movement to Work, supported by their employer.

In sharing their story, they aim to inspire more young people, inform employers, and champion youth employment across the UK.

Without Movement to Work I don't know where I would be right now. I want to give back and help in any way I can — supporting young people who are struggling like I was and show the value of Movement to Work.

Youth Ambassadors

What does the role involve?
  • Act as role models for Movement to Work within their organisations — inspiring colleagues and peers alike.
  • Share Movement to Work's work, events, and opportunities across their social media channels.
  • Help bring our biggest moments to life, including the annual Youth Employability Summit & Awards.
  • Support the delivery of Movement to Work events throughout the year.
  • Represent Movement to Work through PR opportunities - from social media to TV, radio, photography and beyond.
  • Share their story in a way that will inspire the next generation of Youth Ambassadors.
  • Work with a mentor to continue growing personally and professionally.
  • Help recruit the next wave of Youth Ambassadors as their two-year term draws to a close.
What's the time commitment?

Our Ambassadors give their time voluntarily, typically committing to:

  • A monthly session with their Movement to Work mentor.
  • A group meeting with fellow Ambassadors every two months.
  • Two face-to-face events per year.
  • Regular activity on their own social media channels.
