Sareena Bains – CEO
Sareena joined Movement to Work in February 2024 as the Chief Executive Officer on secondment from Accenture where she worked as a leader within Accenture’s Strategy & Consulting Financial Services Industry Group. Her role involved advising and supporting Global and UK Tier 1 Banks, Challenger Banks, and Building Societies with post-M&A integration, regulatory change, and digital strategy and transformation.
Sareena is experienced in leading large programmes and portfolios, driving strategic growth and improvement initiatives, and has a proven track record for establishing, coaching, and building high-performing and diverse teams. Most recently, Sareena played a pivotal role in Accenture’s leadership team at a major UK Banking client. In her role, she operated as the Strategy and Consulting lead, responsible for a multi-million-pound Change Services portfolio and team spanning the UK, Europe, and India.
Beyond her professional endeavours, Sareena is obsessed with levelling the playing field and maintains an unwavering commitment to driving widespread social impact and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) across the domains of Technology, Financial Services, and broader society. She has consistently channelled this dedication through her leadership as a DE&I sponsor and as the founder and leader of Accenture’s UKI Women in Financial Services Network, through
which she has partnered with corporate and not-for-profit organisations to advocate for a more equal and diverse workforce. With a mission to pay it forward, Sareena often mentors university students, champions girls in STEM initiatives, and dedicates her time to volunteering at local youth zones and schools.
