Boosting young peoples’ opportunities and inspiring them into careers in the digital world of work
“At BT, we team hands on work experience with activities to help young people build the skills and confidence they tell us they need to thrive in our increasingly tech driven world. Thousands have joined our programmes and we’re delighted to have helped them take their first steps into work. I’m proud of our track record supporting young people from all walks of life to achieve their aspirations.”

BT’s involvement in Movement to Work is part of a commitment to preparing the next generation to thrive in a digital world – so they can step up to future jobs and create an inclusive society that works for them.
BT wants to boost the social mobility of young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds by giving them the hard and soft skills not only to get a job but to thrive in their careers. BT gives young people the transferable skills to succeed in any sector, but always aims to support young people on their programme through the application process for an apprenticeship or entry-level role in BT.
Through skills development and hands-on experience of jobs powered by technology, BT’s Work Ready programme helps 16-24 year olds who are not in employment, training or education prepare for the modern world of work.
