Louise Quinney – COO

Louise joined Movement to Work in March 2024 as the Chief Operating Officer on secondment from BAE Systems Plc where she was most recently Head of People Capability for their UK & International Finance function. BAE Systems is a FTSE 100 global defence, aerospace and security company employing around 100,000 people across more than 40 countries.

An Accountant by trade, Louise joined BAE in 2003 and after progressing through various Finance positions across the Company, she followed her passion for people development and moved into the role managing BAE’s flagship Finance Leader Development Programme (FLDP) – responsible for the success of BAE Systems’ Finance Graduate & Undergraduate schemes. From there, Louise was promoted to head up Capability & Development for BAE’s Finance function.

Louise was responsible for setting and executing the learning and development strategy for the UK & International Finance function. Whilst she is based in the UK, she spent a substantial amount of time in the Middle East and consulting with colleagues in Australia. Her remit covered talent management and succession planning, as well as overall accountability for the success of BAE Systems’ Finance Early Careers Programmes and she partnered directly with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure a consistent learning approach across the Group.

Louise led BAE’s UK & International Finance Development Forum as well as being a member of the Cross-Functional Capability Steering Group for the Company. She’s also held a tenure as a member of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Employer and Recruitment Steering Group, the Strategic Advisory Board for Kaplan Professional and is a founding member of a cross-Industry Finance Capability Working Group, which includes representatives from Rolls Royce, NHS Wales, GSK, Siemens, JCB & Tarmac.

Over the past 10 years, Louise has been an active volunteer for the Education and Employers Taskforce initiative; ‘Inspiring the Future’. The Charity, Education and Employers, runs ‘Inspiring the Future’ which connects state schools and colleges with people from the world of work. Louise pledges several hours a year to volunteer in local schools and colleges to talk to young people about her job, career and educational route.

In her spare time, Louise is an outdoor adventure enthusiast & enjoys hiking (with her French Bulldog – Stella), climbing, mountain biking, wild swimming & if she can tie it in with her love for travel & exploring the world, then all the better!
