The Movement to Work programme targeting out-of-work young people helped turn around Anastacia Jamfrey’s life. “It sounds clichéd but it’s the truth,” she says. “I had no sense of purpose or direction, and my confidence was so low I genuinely believed I didn’t deserve any sort of job at all.”
Ms Jamfrey is finishing a business management apprenticeship at BAE Systems. She secured a place on the vocational training scheme after taking part in the month-long programme. This is part of a wider collaboration between UK employers and the Prince’s Trust to support young people in developing professional skills, building confidence and finding work. BAE Systems has been supporting the scheme since 2014.
