The 2nd Stand Out Programme Youth Steering Group!

🎉Great to have the Stand Out Youth Steering Group back together round the virtual table this week. The Stand Out programme is a National Lottery Community Funded project to support volunteering and employment as part of the #Birmingham2022 Commonwealth Games.

Our Young Champions have been using data to asking insightful questions of the West Midlands Combined Authority about the performance of the programme, alongside our business leaders from MtW employer partners. Marie McCarren from Street League gave a run down of all the proactive youth outreach taking place to engage young people to get involved in the programme – what fab work! The mentor and mentee matches were also shared, so soon Young Champions and business leaders will mutually be benefitting from new mentoring relationships.

Huge thanks goes to Participation People who have been getting everyone trained and ready to work together, ensuring youth voice is at the heart of this work.

Movement to Work are proud to have our Head of Regional Development – Midlands Kathryn Fedun chair this session and looking forward to next meeting when a Young Champion will be taking on this role as part of their development.
